The House Museum of Kadare is open to the public

Citizens, but also many local and foreign visitors, have one more destination to visit in the capital.

Thanks to the project of the Municipality of Tirana led by the architect Elizabeta Terragni, the house where the genius of Albanian letters Ismail Kadare lived and worked for many years to write some of his most famous literary works, has been turned into a museum.

"Ismail's expression that there is always time for a person to do something useful for his country is fantastic. Somehow we found time, in the many jobs that the city has, to do something useful for our country, not something exclusive to Tirana, but something that elevates, but also opens a window for one of the most emblematic figures, one of the most well-known 'Made in Albania', which is Ismail Kadare, Helena and their family, as well as the work that originated from this house".

The Mayor expressed his belief that this building will turn into a destination for tourists. "We want this museum to be definitely one of the ten things to see in Tirana, after the Bunker, the House with leaves, the square, our cult institutions, the National Museum, Opera and Ballet.
