Vaso Pashë Shkodrani, born in Shkodra on 17 September 1825 and died in Beirut on 29 June 1892, known in Albanian literature simply as Pashko Vasa, was an official of the British consulate in Ottoman Shkodra, a cavalry officer in Bologna, a revolutionary of the Risorgimento, an official of the Ottoman Empire and an activist of the Albanian National Movement. For his services to the empire, he was decorated with the "Osmanije" and "Mexhidije" medals, in gold and silver. In 1978, on the occasion of the centenary of the League of Prizren, his remains were repatriated and are buried in the martyrs' cemetery in Shkodra.
