"Geographical, political position and the Albanian population in the diplomatic documents of the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain 1912-1918" by Frashër Demaj, as well as "Albanians during the year 1943 according to German military documents" and "Albanians at the end of the Second World War ( 1944) according to German sources", by the authors Jusuf Bajraktari, Frashër Demaj and Teki Kurti, are the books that have been promoted in ASHAK as publications of this institution. With the first one, among other things, the idea that the Great Powers have not recognized the Albanian problem is denied, and through German documents, Kosovo of the 40s comes to two extremes: in one as the main cause for the mobilization of the population, while in the other as a factor for the division and division of Albanians
Three scientific books aim to shed light on the history of the Albanian people, as a way to dispel prejudice about the attitudes of the Great Powers towards Albania, the view of Great Britain towards the Albanians here 110 years ago and that of Germany, eight decades ago, at the time events and major turns, during and at the end of the Second World War.
In fact, the German documents show Kosovo in two extremes in the 40s of the last century: in one as the main cause for the mobilization of the population, while in the other as a factor for the division and division of the Albanians, which is estimated to have damaged the process of the Anti-Fascist War, having left aside the national question.
The authors Frashër Demaj, Jusuf Bajraktari and Teki Kurti have brought their studies as a reflection of the facts on the official positions of these states in different aspects, such as in terms of geographical and geostrategic, political, social and religious positions. The sources are based on archival documents of the respective countries.
The doors of the facility of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo were opened with three new titles in the list of publications of this institution, on Friday morning. These books reflect the results of ongoing scientific research in the archival documents of the protagonist institutions in these books.

Germany, Kosovo and the ethics of order after the Cold War
"Geographical, political position and the Albanian population in the diplomatic documents of the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain 1912-1918", authored by the historian Frashër Demaj, as well as "Albanians during the year 1943 according to German military documents" and "Albanians at the end of the War of The Second World War (1944) according to German sources", by the authors Jusuf Bajraktari, Frashër Demaj and Teki Kurti, are the books that have been promoted at ASHAK as publications of this institution.
The book by Frashër Demajt, corresponding member of ASHAK, is the result of scientific research in archival documents of Great Britain, in which Albania is presented in several dimensions, both in terms of geographical and geostrategic position, political, social, demographic, religious , economic, diplomatic and other aspects of Albanian society between 1912-1918, as an important period for the Albanian state.
Academician Jusuf Bajraktari has appreciated Demaj as a serious researcher of the new generation of the history of the Albanian national movement, while as a reviewer of the monographic book "Geographical, political position and the Albanian population in the diplomatic documents of the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain 1912-1918" has considered it as an important contribution in the wake of his scientific research, in which he has used archival documents of European governments with influence in the First and Second World Wars.
"In this study, in order to be as exploratory as possible and to compare facts, he used Austro-Hungarian, German, Italian, Ottoman, French, Russian, Serbian and Montenegrin archival documents, but the basis of this publication is the researched archival facts from the national archive in London in 2017", said Jusuf Bajraktari, while also focusing on the specific topics that Demaj has addressed in the book divided into five chapters. Among other things, the book focuses on the Conference of Ambassadors in London, the position of the Albanians in the First World War, the positions of the borders, the ethnic extent, the surface, the coast, the water systems, the climate, the Albanian population between the two regions of Gege and Toska, the position of women and other events and factors during the years 1912-1918.
"Demaj also presents the resignation of Ismail Qemali's Government, the coming to power of Prince Vidi, the secret treaty of London and concludes with the positions of Britain and some other powers in this period", said Bajraktari. While the author himself qualifies the book as his modest contribution to the great need that historiography has for dealing with events and aspects in different periods from an international perspective.
"The idea that arose to write it was from the time when I was studying, in the National Archives of London I found many documents about this historical period, but it was another fact that motivated me more. It was a department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain that had built a commission that had taken on the responsibility of guiding the British Government, but also the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with important information, in this case of the Albanians. , said Demaj. Among other things, in this book he denies the idea that the Great Powers did not recognize the Albanian problem, as he said that "...they recognized it because this commission received information through accredited consulates and embassies". Based on his findings, the Great Powers have assessed the period of the League of Prizren as important, as part of the national awakening to build an independent state, while the other topic that he touched on is the religious one since, as he said the author, those who claimed to have Albanian lands, called the population of the Islamic faith "Ottomans", those of the Orthodox faith were referred to as "Greeks" and "Slavs", and those of the Catholic faith as "Latins".

The purpose and reason for Kosovar research on non-Albanian topics
In the book "Albanians during 1943 according to German military documents", the authors Jusuf Bajraktari, Frashër Demaj and Teki Kurti, bring important documentary sources to know the truth about the organization, activity and attitude of the fighting formations of the Albanian nationalist political exchanges, such as it was the National Front. The book presents the cooperation of nationalist organizations that have cooperated with the Germans in military actions with the idea of forming a national state.
The reviewer of this book, academician Arsim Bajrami, has mentioned that a significant number of documents are dedicated to armed conflicts between German and Italian troops in different divisions.
"Inside the publication are ten documentary files from the year 1943, where documents have been systematized, among other things, with orders, notices, requests of the Italian army, movements of nationalist forces, provision of routes for food supplies, movements of partisan detachments, the number of injured and others", said Academician Bajrami. The book is divided into seven chapters, as a scientific research work of several years by three authors.
The same topic and the same sources as this book, but the developments of the following year are dealt with by Bajraktari, Demaj and Kurti in "Albanians at the end of the Second World War (1944) according to German sources", which was finalized in cooperation with the Institute of History in Tirana. It deals with the war of the German troops, their allies against the anti-fascist national liberation movement and allies in Albania and the Albanian territories at the end of the Second World War. Seven files from 1944 are included in the book, which, among other things, are related to the defense of Albania.
"They are about orders, daily reports, telegrams of military commands on the defense of Albania and Montenegro, reports on the enemy's situation in Northern, Central and Southern Albania", said the reviewer of the book, Fehmi Rexhepi. While the co-author of the book, Jusuf Bajraktari, has emphasized that from these documents, Kosovo is based on two factors: the mobilization of the population and the division between them, which has influenced the neglect of the national issue.

Kosovo between war and peace, a turning point for Germany too
"The documents present the reality of different processes. These German documents prove that Kosovo was one of the main factors for mobilization, but also for the division of the Albanian factor that damaged the process of the anti-fascist war. The division between Albanians due to erroneous concepts leaving aside the national issue, which continues even today, has harmed us both in the war and in political thought", said Bajraktari, while speaking on behalf of the authors of the book. He considers important the cooperation between the institutions of Kosovo and Albania in the various fields of scientific studies, in particular in the field of history, as he thanked the Institute of History in Tirana for the cooperation.
The three books that are part of the publishing activity of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo, have been evaluated as important for researchers in the field of history, but also as publications of documents of states that have borne the greatest burden in important processes, as combat, but also in other aspects.
