The Regional Cultural Heritage Center aims to rebuild the burnt monument in Prizren

Representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, those of the Municipality of Prizren and the Kosovo Police came together on Wednesday in a meeting called by the Regional Center of Cultural Heritage in Prizren. It was discussed about the burning of the Austrian-style building within the former drug factory "Farmakos", which is also within the Complex of Nänkala, Pantelia and Potokmahalla. This entire ensemble is on the List of cultural heritage under temporary protection. Known as the "Austrian Building", built between the years 1923-1929, on Saturday February 8, it was completely burnt down. Last Friday, the newspaper reported that the Ministry of Environment canceled the decision that prohibited the construction of a business-residential facility in that area of ​​cultural heritage. "QRTK in Prizren has sent professional teams to the scene, and has drawn up a report along with recommendations for further steps. As a result of the recommendations, the coordination meeting was held", announced the QRTK on Wednesday after the meeting. According to the announcement, the competent institutions of the Municipality of Prizren will undertake the appropriate actions in the following days by cleaning the location, with the aim of providing the conditions to record the current situation, and measures will be taken to secure the plot. in order to avoid uncontrolled access to the scene.

"After cleaning the ground and creating suitable conditions for work, the professional collaborators of the QRTK in Prizren will be engaged in drawing up the plan of the existing condition, as well as the drawing up of the reconstruction project of the building, based on the data archival", it is written in the announcement.
