The Embassy of Kosovo in Skopje has been enriched with the image of the Albanian Nobel laureate, Saint Teresa. On Monday, the bust of Saint Teresa was inaugurated in the external premises of this institution. The president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the president of Albania, Bajram Begaj, and the president of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, took part in this event. The inauguration was held in the context of marking the seventh anniversary of the canonization of Anjeza Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, who is known throughout the world as Mother Teresa.
In her speech as host of the event, the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that in her sensational life, Mother Teresa united people, peoples and cultures. According to her, with her life's work she became a hope for the poor, an inspiration for humanity and a global guide.
"Today we are here to perpetuate her figure in the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Skopje, in her place of birth. According to her, love and sensitivity towards people and humanity is the strong side of Saint Teresa's character and morals, and therefore in no single day of her life did she stop doing humanitarian deeds based on love and compassion for others. President Osmani told the audience that the Nobel laureate was born in Skopje, while her parents are from Kosovo, while in Albania, respectively in Tirana, they lived and died one after the other, mother Drande and sister Age.
"That's why I'm happy that today we are together with the president of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, and the president of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, coming together in honor of our saint as a symbol of our friendship between countries, our excellent relations and our bright future in the Euro-Atlantic family", she said.
In his speech, the president of Albania, Bajram Begaj, also praised the figure of Saint Teresa.
"Mother Teresa fills Albanians with pride and inspires the whole world", he said, among other things.

Saint Teresa with statues in the thousand-year-old church in Brussels
Previously, on Saturday of last week, a statue of Saint Teresa was added to Europe. In the framework of the anniversary of the consecration of the Albanian Nobel laureate, one of the oldest religious temples in Europe was made with her statues. In the "Notre Dame de Laeken" church in Brussels, during the ceremony titled "Saint Teresa's Feast", the statue of Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhi was inaugurated. During this ceremony, in the Gothic-style temple, which dates back to 1020, a mass for Saint Teresa was also held.
Saint Teresa died on September 5, 1997, in Calcutta, India. Pope Francis on July 4, 2016, reading the holy formula in the name of God, proclaimed Mother Teresa as Saint Teresa. And on September 5 of that year, the consecration ceremony was held. Saint Teresa, whose full name is Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje. She was a well-known Albanian humanist, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
