Pristina, March 16 - It doesn't happen very often that an artist is challenged to such an extent that he puts garbage inside the space of a gallery. Agron Blakçori and the curator Mehmet Behluli have done this. In the central part, the photo that the artist took in his neighborhood in Podujevë has been recreated - which shows an iron fence with plastic bags surrounded by garbage.
In another "room" of the National Gallery of Kosovo, photographs taken in Berlin are displayed - which highlight the other side of the German city, exposing glass and plastic bottles scattered everywhere. Blakçori had exhibited these photographs at "TRAFFIC Gallery" in Pristina last year. Part of his personal exhibition opened on Thursday night at GKK, are also the vases of the statues that he made for various competitions. Placed in an unusual position - from the smallest to the largest with a view from the wall - they show heroes and protagonists of history, including Ismail Qemali, King Zog, Ibrahim Rugova and Mother Teresa. Blakçori exhibited some of them in December last year, as part of the "Monument" exhibition opened in the gallery of the Faculty of Art. Thus, it turns out that his personal exhibition "Can you imagine this as something beautiful?" summarizes in an expanded version his works, previously exhibited. All his works pose the question according to which the exhibition got its title. The questions that Blakçori asks are closely related to reality. For example, in another room, a suitcase filled with concrete can be seen. Concreted are two shoes next to her. In this way, the artist makes fun of the freedom of movement of Kosovars.
Agron Blakçori, graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina, in 2016 was the winner of the first edition of "Young Artists", organized by the National Gallery of Kosovo. His personal exhibition opened in GKK is part of this award (extensively, today in "Kohën Ditore").
