The “Opera Evening” within the framework of the sixth edition of the “Rame Lahaj” International Opera Festival has brought to Pristina the voices of the world stages. Far from the noise of the city, in the space in front of the National Library of Kosovo, decorated with elegance and colorful lights, two prominent names of lyrical music, but bring its magic. It was up to the famous tenor from Venezuela, Jorge Puerta, to open the concert with “Ideale” by Francesco Paolo Tosti. The story of ideal love and longing in this Italian romance of the late 19th century, was an ideal opening for an evening like this. Puerta, left the stage to the famous soprano from Kosovo, Elbenita Kajtazi with “Vetë ke mbet” by Gjergj Kaçinari, the iconic song sung by Nexhmije Pagarushë, which the RLIOF has transformed into a central figure by bringing a series of concerts in her honor, in Pristina and other cities.
Accompanied on piano by Jess Rucinski from the Bonn Theater and beyond, Puerta and Kajtazi are bringing works from the operatic repertoire, while the soprano has also selected notable works of Albanian music in the program. One of them was the aria “Dielli ka përendu” from the opera “Mrika” by Prenk Jakova.
"Opera Night" in front of the National Library precedes the "Rame Lahaj & Friends" gala evening next Wednesday at "Skënderbeu" Square, which also marks the closing of the sixth edition.
