Pristina, February 5 - The Municipality of Pristina has gone one step further in terms of the construction of a facility for the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Mathematical-Natural Sciences in the space where the Ministry of Culture plans to continue the construction of the opera and ballet theater, " Dr. Ibrahim Rugova" where the foundation stone was laid more than a decade ago.

From Tuesday, for 30 days, in the old building of the Municipality, citizens can contribute to the open public debate on the "Detailed Regulatory Plan for the area of ​​the Technical Faculty, in the neighborhood 'Bregu i Diellit'" which was drawn up by the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina". This was done after the Municipal Assembly approved this plan in principle on the 27th of last month. Thus, the Municipality of Pristina has taken the second step, which shows that, according to them, the opera and ballet theater has been left without a location.

But, despite this, the Ministry of Culture is continuing with the selection procedures of the conceptual project for this facility. The projects have been re-evaluated by the Public Procurement Review Body. On the other hand, the new Government also plans to build this facility, but without specifying the location.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Pristina has said that the decision to assign the location for the opera and ballet theater is over 10 years old. According to him, in the meantime, in 2013, the Urban Development Plan was approved that identifies that part for the purpose of public institutions.

And on November 11, the Municipality of Pristina informed the Ministry of Culture that for the construction of the opera and ballet theater "Dr. Ibrahim Rugova" cannot count on the space near the Technical Faculty. For MKRS, the location continues to remain the same.
