The Institute insists that Vushtrri Castle be used for business

Pristina, October 30 - The Kosovo Institute for the Protection of Monuments does not intend to give up the use of a part of the Vushtrri Castle for a private business.

This institution has opposed the decision of the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate, through which any action on the monument is prohibited. For this, on Monday, he filed a complaint with the Inspectorate, through which the cancellation of the decision of this body is requested. The inspectorate had rejected the decision of the IKMM that was issued in haste first for putting the Vushtrri Castle into use and then only a part of it.

Ten days ago, the Kosovo Institute for the Protection of Monuments had described as a "technical error" its decision to grant "temporary use" of the Vushtrri Castle, which appears on the List of monuments under permanent state protection. On the 18th day of this month, this institution "completed" its decision by specifying that it is a matter of leasing only the annex and not the Vushtrri Castle.

"The request of 'Dardania Castle' with owner Mr. Mentor Salihu for the temporary use of the annex (assembly facility) in the Vushtrri Castle, in Vushtrri", is written in the decision of the IKMM, a copy of which is also available to "Koha Ditore". But the corrections were not taken into account by the Inspectorate. On the 18th of this month, this body made a decision to prohibit "any unauthorized activity in the Old Castle in Vushtrri". According to this decision, the director of the Kosovo Institute for the Protection of Monuments is obliged "to take all measures and actions for its implementation in accordance with the findings and conclusions of this decision".

But IKMM, led by director Ismet Hajrullahu, does not agree with this.
