The destruction of houses with heritage values has not stopped in Prizren. The non-governmental organization "EC Ma Ndryshe" reacted on Friday regarding the demolition of the house with historical value on "Aleksandër Fleming" street, describing this action as another loss of heritage values. At the same time, it has been requested that the responsible institutions engage in the implementation of the law, Koha Ditore writes today.
"On 'Aleksandër Fleming' street, the building with historical value has been demolished. For this matter, the officials of the Regional Center for Cultural Heritage in Prizren have been contacted to find out if they have received any request regarding the performance of these works, and the response provided by this institution informs us that the latter have received a request such and have refused to give consent for the development of the works", writes in the reaction of the EC. There it is emphasized that the Council for Cultural Heritage of Prizren through an official letter has informed the monitors that it has not issued consent for this subject.
"On the other hand, the Directorate of Urbanism and Spatial Planning in its official response announces that the owner does not have a permit for the demolition of this object", says the reaction of the EC. Furthermore, this organization announced that the inspectors of the Municipality of Prizren had placed the tapes to stop the works, but the owner did not respect their decision, "removing the tapes and carrying out the works without institutional permission".
