For the first time, Helena Kadare will be in a story about the literature and life of the great writer Ismail Kadare for the readers of Kosovo. On October 7, at 20.00, the writer will be in front of two journalists, Beti Njuma and Alda Bardhyli, at the Sonder cafe, for a rare story about the unusual journey of a woman in literature.
In the history of Albanian literature, Helena Kadare is one of the first women to publish in a literature dominated by men since the 1970s with the novel "A difficult birth". The book was well received by critics. Then she returns to the reader in the early 90s with the novel "A woman from Tirana", "Spouses" in 2002. With a special style, Helena's stories are described with a subtle sensitivity.
She has a contribution in the field of translations. In recent years, she published the autobiographical book "Insufficient Time" where she tells her life alongside the writer Ismail Kadare. Her trip with "Literature and the city" to Prishtina is an event for cultural life, as according to the two journalists it will not be just a confession but also a reflection on how cultures today interact with each other, and the role of literature today in developments socio-political.
During her stay in Kosovo, Helena will have a meeting with a student of the University of Philosophy.
