Baptized as a play on words, a play on styles and different musical periods, the next concert of the international chamber music festival “KamerFest”, “Espressiva Impressione”, was held. Pianist Veronika Koprivica from Denmark, violinist Leonard Simaku and Ukrainian cellist Alexander Zyumbrovskiy brought what they considered to be an expression of expression between romanticism and expressionism. The piece “My beautiful More” was the special chapter of the concert. The delicate interpretation made the work extremely unique, which dates back to 1400. In this version, the premiere

Musical beauty is woven into the concert program “Espressiva Impressione” of the international chamber music festival “KamerFest”. Romantic, impressionist and Albanian music are linked like a poem in three unique chapters. Such was the work “Moj e bukura More” arranged by Thomas Simaku, which was premiered as a version for piano, violin and cello.

It was a concert full of emotion and musical elegance. Pianist Veronika Koprivica from Denmark, violinist Leonard Simaku and Ukrainian cellist Alexander Zyumbrovskiy brought what they considered to be an expression of expression, which is a play on words.

It began with Mendelssohn’s “Piano Trio No. 1,” one of the most famous chamber music pieces. The first movement, “Molto allegro agitato,” began with a theme from the cello accompanied by the piano, and then the violin joined in rhythmically with a distorted version of the theme. The two string instruments play in unison, while the piano develops other themes.

In “Andante con moto tranquillo” the piano opens the part which is accompanied by the violin and then comes as an imitation by the cello. In “Scherzo. Leggiero e vivace” it is shorter where the main theme is played by the piano and goes by reducing the accompaniment of the other two instruments. In “Finale. Allegro assai appassionato” there are full of contrasts.

Pianist Koprivica has stated that Mendelssohn's music is one of her favorites.

"Mendelssohn is one of my favorite composers. Perhaps the most important composer in the 19th century. Not because he is the best, but because he was supportive of many other artists. It was our desire for all of you to hear him, because I think it is very important for people to grow up healthy with the culture of music and the arts, as well as to think in peace because music is the most universal language," she said.

In general, he assessed the program selection as rich.

"The one we played is both romantic and expressionist. Colorful. It's a kind of play on words with the title 'Espressiva Impressione'. It doesn't mean anything special, but sometimes you hear a new work and there's a universal message it gives and there's an expression that you try to express," the Danish pianist continued.

She has been the artistic director and founder of the "Concertato Association" since 2016 with a focus on developing masterclasses, for which she has shared her experience with many young pianists, including those from Kosovo.

"It is very important that Kosovo supports these cultural events as a continuation of musical culture. I know many talented young people from here who have attended my masterclasses and who are very promising musicians. I am very happy that we performed here," she said.

The piece “Moj e bukura More” was the special chapter of the concert. The delicate interpretation has made the work extremely unique. The slowed-down rhythm of the piano begins the musical narrative of this work, an Arbëresh gem. The same sound is followed by the violin and then the cello. The three instruments together develop the rest of the narrative.

Cellist Zyumbrovskiy said that this work was very rich in harmony and emotion.

"Today we heard the original work for solo violin and symphony orchestra. It was very rich in its harmonies. It is very good, very rich in emotions and different tonalities. It was much longer than what we performed today. I think it is an important work for the Albanian music repertoire," he said.

The audience in the hall was small, but select. The discipline was maximum, and this was appreciated by the Ukrainian cellist, who expressed his amazement at this even in the previous concert of "KamerFest" with songs by soprano Adelina Paloja and tenor Ismet Vejseli, accompanied on piano by Shkëlzen Baftiari.

"Yesterday we heard another concert that I was amazed by, as well as the audience. They were very disciplined and followed with great attention. Tonight the audience was also very good. I was also amazed by the city, which I did not expect to be so good and so calm," said Ukrainian cellist Alexander Zyumbrovskiy.

Violinist Leonard Simaku said that this is the first time this work has been performed in this formation.

"The piece 'Më e bukura Mora' is a traditional Arbëresh song from the 1400s and Thomas Simaku took it and made an arrangement of this piece for trio: violin, cello and piano. This was the world premiere, because it was also played with violin and orchestra, which I played in Tirana, then there are other arrangements for violin and piano, but for trio it was the first time it was presented," he said.

In the last part of the concert, "Piano Trio" by Debussy was played.

"It is an extremely difficult program, including romantic, French impressionist and Albanian music. In general, we are very pleased, because this festival gives opportunities to chamber music players and the program for this type of music has a very wide baggage. The strings are always in dialogue with the piano instrument. The piano has the greatest weight because it accompanies, it is thematic, while the violin and cello have themes that express a moment. Everything is difficult, because there must be communication between the other instruments," said violinist Simaku. It was performed in its four tempos: "Andantino con moto alegro", "Scherzo: Moderato con alegro", "Andante espressivo" and "Finale: Appassionato".

The work is extremely attractive and full of harmony. It opens with the attractive sounds of the piano.

Pianist Veronika Koprivica said that through the rhythms of the French composer's work are the beautiful landscapes of Italy, which Debussy visited.

"Debussy was traveling around Italy. He was in Capri, in Florence and was very inspired by nature. Maybe you can hear elements of the easy-going life, of what they call 'dolce vita' there. This is one of his expressions. Also Leonardi gave us a beautiful idea to play Simaku's work and it was a very beautiful thing. We are all travelers outside the countries where we were born and we learn what the nostalgic music of other countries is," she explained.

At the very end, the trio performed an encore piece by Argentine Julian Plaza.
