There are fourteen performers divided into pairs. Under the beating of the drum, the girls in silk and the boys in white take steps and make meaningful movements.
For a moment, each pair forms a circle with the other pair to be immediately followed by more circles with four jumpers, reports KOHA.
It starts again from the beginning without ever losing its dynamics. It is a dance choreographed in such a way that every movement expresses the Tropojan spirit of the Highlands of Gjakova.
With it, Albania intends to run with another value in the treasure of the spiritual culture of the world.
The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, said on Friday that the National Council of Intangible Cultural Heritage is running for UNESCO.
"Dizzying rhythms, explosive energy, colors... This is 'Tropojë's drum dance', part of our choreographic folklore, one of the pearls of the Albanian national spiritual heritage", wrote minister Margariti next to the one-minute video, with the interpretation of this dance in the city of Bajram Curri.
