Awards for theatre, cinematography and visual arts awaiting juries

The Ministry of Culture is continuing the tradition of violating the regulations that it has drafted itself. This year, the awards in the field of theater, cinematography and visual art have not yet been awarded. For all this, the competitions have been closed for months. But the Minister of Culture, Vlora Dumoshi, has not appointed the juries that evaluate the candidacies of these awards. The competition for awards in the field of theater was closed at the beginning of March this year. The regulation that determines the distribution of these awards determines that they must be distributed on March 27, World Theater Day. The competition for awards in the field of cinematography is closed in May. According to the Regulation, the prizes are awarded on June 1, the birthday of the world-renowned Albanian actor, Bekim Fehmiu. This year, apart from the fact that the awards were not distributed on this day, the state institutions, as always happens, did not remember the actor even on the 10th anniversary of his death, on June 10. Even the award for lifetime achievement in cinematography bears the name "Bekim Fehmiu". Fehmiu was remembered by "DokuFest" through the throwing of flowers in Lumbardh and the screening of the film "Feather Collector". That night, the Minister of Culture, Vlora Dumoshi, was also in Prizren, but she did not participate in this ceremony. He had thrown flowers into the river from another space. MKRS had justified the non-organization of any activity with the circumstances created by the pandemic.

The visual arts awards were previously presented in June. But even they have remained hostage to the appointment of the jury. For all awards there are enough candidates to finalize the process.
