The animated orange monster, who is a drummer in the band "Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem" in "The Muppet Show", which first appeared in 1975, had been the first inspiration for Valon Berisha. He thought of himself instead of Animal playing the drums. Animal was the only character who appeared in every movie the band was in. He was distinguished for his enthusiasm and fiery playing on the drums, Koha Ditore writes today.
Drummer Berisha also inherited these peculiarities from the favorite animated character, adding complicated compositions and his journey through several styles. Berisha has been playing the tupana since 1993, when he was in elementary school. At his first concert in 1994, as he says, he had difficulty reaching the drums to hit them with sticks.
"The first tupana were the school banks. I fell on the table and on my leg. I had a part on my leg that felt like I had waxed it, because it was falling off non-stop", he recalls with a laugh. Having no drums to begin with, he had improvised.
"In the third or fourth grade, I didn't have a drum, but after looking and analyzing, I made a pair with buckets, and what I found. I took all plastic bags, x-ray films, and x-rays as the others were also improvising, since at that time very few had real batteries", he recalled.
Berisha started with "rap metal", then moved to "grunge" and finished high school with "hardcore".

An artistic fusion from acting to music
"Going through these genres has not been easy", he says and shows that he is currently doing hip-hop and pop. He has collaborated with several artists such as Dafina Zeqiri, BimBima and Taste 2. Finally, Berisha together with drummers Violand Shabani and Teoman Ukça founded the "Prishtina Drum Festival", which was held on November 25 at "Kino Armata" in Pristina.
