The 77th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival begins

The Cannes International Film Festival stands out as one of the world's most exciting cinematic events, where big-budget films and industry-defining auteurs alike debut to mesmerizing crowds along the Croisette boulevard in coastal city of France.

This year the festival welcomes a number of sensational premieres including director George Miller's Hollywood film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Francis Ford Coppola's latest cinematic project, Megalopolis, and the quirky, star-studded film of Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, "Kinds of Kindness".

The guests of the festival - among them Hollywood star actors - began the parade on the red carpet where they were accompanied by the cheers of journalists, the public as well as the music selected by the organizers. There was even the hit of Kosovar singer Dua Lipa, "Dance the Night".

As is tradition, famous actors and directors such as Meryl Streep, Juliette Binoche, Greta Gerwig, Lily Gladson, Lea Seydoux and others did not hesitate to pose for the many photographers before entering the building for the official opening ceremony. of the 77th edition of the Festival, under the direction of the French actress Camille Cottin.

Actress-turned-director Greta Gerwig is the first American director to serve as Jury President of this year's festival. Jane Campion was the last American director to enjoy this role a decade ago.

In the film marathon that ends on May 25, the world of film in what is known as the festival of festivals will have the opportunity to see the story of Kosovo with "The Road". Directed by Samir Karahoda, the film will premiere on May 24 at the "Debussy" theater. It is competing for the "Golden Palm" in the category of short films.
