A woman was killed on Tuesday in Peja, the murder is suspected to have been committed by her husband.
The spokesperson of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Peja, Shkodran Nikçi, has confirmed the case for TIME, announcing that the murder took place with a firearm.
The suspect has been arrested and relevant teams have arrived at the scene.
"In Peja, there has been a case of murder, where it is suspected that in an apartment in the center of Peja, the husband took his wife's life. Currently at the scene is the chief prosecutor, the prosecutor, serious crimes and all relevant teams. We are waiting for the Forensic Medicine to take the dead body. The suspect has been arrested", said Nikçi.
The police announced that the murder of the 43-year-old woman took place on "Bill Clinton" street.
"Today at around 08:15, the Police was informed that a case occurred on the 'Bill Clinton' street in Peja, the Police immediately went to the scene, as well as the medical team, who determined the death of the victim (female), the suspect in this case has been arrested and is in the premises of the Police Station in Peja", said the announcement of the Police spokesperson for the Peja region, Driton Rugova.
This is the second murder in a few days in Kosovo.
On Friday (April 12), a 21-year-old woman was shot dead in Ferizaj at the Center for Social Work.
The murder is suspected to have been committed by her husband.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has decided to declare Wednesday (April 17) a day of mourning, adding that "society will be a day of mourning every day as long as there are murders of women and girls".
"Unfortunately, we all woke up this morning with the terrible news of the murder of a woman by her husband. This terrible phenomenon that is hurting our society and our country, this femicide of extraordinary proportions must be stopped at all costs. The only way to stop it is if we all reawaken as a society, as a state and as a nation," said Osmani.
For this incident, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, also the National Coordinator for Protection from Violence, held a meeting with representatives of justice institutions.
And, the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, has asked for the consolidation of the judiciary and security for the prevention of murders of women.
He added that the news of the woman's murder in Peja was sad.
Reactions to this case have also come from the opposition.
The President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has invited the security agencies to act responsibly in such cases, saying that the state "must be a shield for women".
"Their life cannot remain a life for survival. From the ease of owning a firearm, to the reactive state of our institutions, the housing conditions of women seeking protection, and the derogatory language against women; we have many problems and the actions are completely insufficient. LDK will consider every institutional opportunity to raise the discussion about institutional decision-making for the prevention of such cases", wrote LDK on Facebook.
Memli Krasniqi, chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has said that this case is the alarm that should wake up every person who has responsibility for guaranteeing the safety of citizens.
"Two women killed in three days by their partners - who were previously reported to the police for issues of domestic violence. This is the alarm that should wake up every person who has even a little responsibility to guarantee the safety of citizens - and state institutions have the most", wrote Krasniqi on Facebook.
