Suspect commits suicide in Roskovec hours after killing ex-father-in-law and taking ex-fiancée hostage

The suspected perpetrator of the murder of his ex-father-in-law, the injury of his ex-mother-in-law and the taking of his ex-fiancée hostage in the village of Vidhisht, Roskovec, Albania, is suspected of committing suicide in his car a few hours after committing the crime on Friday, the State Police have announced.

According to the Police, after the 35-year-old's ex-fiancée was released thanks to the intervention of police forces, the RENEA negotiation team, in cooperation with the Fier Local Police Directorate and under the direction of the prosecutor, continued negotiations with the suspect for several hours in order to have him surrender.

According to the Police, despite intensive efforts that began in the early hours of the morning, the suspect refused to obey police calls.

"Around 16:35, he is suspected of committing suicide with the shotgun he was carrying, inside the vehicle," the police said.
