Three pistols and 34 rounds of ammunition, suspected of being trafficked from Kosovo to be sold to criminal groups in Albania, were seized during the police operation "Hallkat" in Maminas, Durrës, the Albanian Police announced.
Police announced that MB, 34 years old, resident of Kukës, was arrested red-handed, who is suspected of transporting weapons in a vehicle. The passenger DN, 39 years old, resident of Prizren, was also arrested, under suspicion of the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime."
During a search of the vehicle in which they were traveling in Maminas, 3 firearms (pistols) and 34 cartridges were found, suspected to have been trafficked from Kosovo. Further, during a search of the suspect's apartment, 1 iron glove was found.
"Investigations are continuing to identify other persons who may have been involved in this case, while the procedural materials have been submitted to the Prosecution for further action," the Police statement said.
