Tirana police have confirmed that one person was killed and one injured near Rinas Airport, following an attack.
"Around 14:20, at the roundabout near the airport, it is suspected that a gunshot was fired towards the vehicle in which citizens M. Sh., about 40 years old, and GD, about 47 years old, were traveling. As a result, citizen GD lost his life and citizen M. Sh. was injured, who is in hospital, under the care of doctors, in serious health condition," the Albanian Police report states.
Meanwhile, the investigation team is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The media reported that the suspected vehicle from which the shootings came, sped away towards Fushë-Krujë.
At the scene, according to videos published in Albanian media, the Rapid Intervention Forces and the RENEA special units are seen, who are also engaged in searching for the suspect.
