Kosovo Police have prevented two suspected cases of smuggling of goods in the border area of Brnjak, where thousands of cigarette boxes and a truck transporting metal materials without proper documentation were seized.
According to the Police announcement, police officers located an Audi vehicle with foreign license plates, stopped and without a driver, which was suspected of being used for smuggling goods.
Later, during a search of a facility and the surrounding area, police found and seized 5.550 boxes of cigarettes of various brands, as well as 19 packs of cigarettes, which are also suspected of being smuggled.
In this case, one person was interviewed as a witness and was subsequently released in a regular procedure.
In another case, during the same operation, police stopped a truck with foreign license plates transporting metal materials, while the driver did not possess the relevant documentation for the goods.

With the authorization of the State Prosecutor, Kosovo Customs has seized the goods and two vehicles for further procedures, while the case has been transferred to Customs for processing.
The Kosovo Police has announced that it will continue joint operations with competent institutions to prevent and combat smuggling of goods and other illegal activities.
