Kosovo police destroys a plantation with 20 thousand narcotic plants

The Kosovo police announced on Saturday that they destroyed a plantation with 20 narcotic plants, suspected to be cannabis, in the border zone between Kosovo and Albania.

According to the Police announcement, in cooperation with the Police of Albania, the identification of the plantation in Koshare, inside the territory of Kosovo, has been achieved. The plantation was on an area of ​​about one hectare.

"Police officers from DRPK-West, since 01:30, on 16.09.2023, have started to implement an operational-tactical plan. At 03:00, police units were at the place where the narcotic plants (cannabis) were planted. In the border zone between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania, in Koshare, near Pyramid C4, inside the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, on an area of ​​about one hectare, about 20 thousand plants were found planted, suspected to be cannabis ", the announcement states.

Relevant police units and the Prosecutor's Office of Gjakova have been notified about the case.

"Regarding the case, we thank the State Police for cooperation and coordination in dealing with this case", the announcement continues.
