A person was hit and killed by a train in Peja. The incident occurred on Monday morning as the train was leaving Peja towards Fushë Kosovë.
The case was confirmed to KOHA by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Peja region, Fadil Gashi.
"Around 05:32, as the train was departing from Peja towards Fushë Kosovës, it hit a person, who as a result of the injuries sustained died at the scene. Immediately after the notification, Kosovo Police units and the Peja Emergency team arrived at the scene. The attending physician confirmed the victim's death," the announcement states.
The circumstances in which the incident occurred are being investigated by the relevant authorities.
After the accident, the public company "Trainkos" announced that it has canceled the circulation of trains numbered 760 and 4201 on the Peja - Pristina route and vice versa.
