A woman was unable to cope with the injuries she sustained from the burn inflicted on her by her mentally ill brother in the village of Poterq, Klina, on Sunday.
He is suspected of first setting fire to the bed his sister was in, and then attacking his mother with a strong object in the other room, the police reported.
The victims were taken to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo for treatment, but his sister died the next day.
"Today, 07.07.2026, the Police were notified that the girl who had injuries from the fire was unable to survive her injuries and passed away, this was determined by the medical team," the report states.
The suspect was initially detained for 48 hours, but due to his serious mental condition, he was taken to the Regional Hospital in Peja, to the psychiatric ward under the care of medical personnel, under the supervision of police officers.
