Lavdim Makshana, researcher at this institute, has requested the toughening of punitive policies so that such cases are not repeated.
"The policy in these cases is a low punitive policy. This is due to the fact that very low penalties are imposed compared to what our legislation provides. So our legislation foresees quite severe punishments in these cases. However, the judges of the Republic of Kosovo mostly impose low sentences for these cases", said Makshana. But, if we try to strengthen the mechanisms or if these cases should not be repeated, then the low punishment policy should be strengthened".
Makshana also emphasized the need to increase the level of security in the Centers for Social Work, which are competent institutions for the protection of citizens.
