One month of detention for Gjesti

The Basic Court in Pristina has ordered one month of detention for singer Besart Kelmendi, known as Gjesti. 

He is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of "Threat", "Destruction or damage to property", and "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons".

"The Basic Court in Pristina - General Department - Criminal Matters Division has decided on the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, to impose a detention measure against the defendant BK, due to the well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offenses of Threatening, Destruction or Damage to Property, as well as the criminal offense of Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons," the Court's announcement states.

The pre-trial judge, after hearing the parties to the proceedings and analyzing the case files, found that the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina for the imposition of a pre-trial detention measure is well-founded.

"The court assessed that the imposition of pre-trial detention in this criminal case is an adequate measure and found that there are circumstances that indicate that there is a risk of flight, a risk of influencing witnesses and a risk of repeating the criminal offense, therefore, the pre-trial detention measure is currently the only measure for the unhindered flow of the criminal procedure. Against this ruling, the dissatisfied parties have the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal, through the Basic Court in Pristina," the Court's announcement states.
