Two police officers were injured during a car chase on the night of February 7, from the Obiliq area to northern Kosovo, on the Mitrovica-Zubin Potok road.

Through a statement, the Kosovo Police detailed the case, indicating that the driver initially did not stop at the police signals in the Obiliq area and endangered a police officer. Despite the Police's attempt, the driver continued moving towards Vushtrri and then to Mitrovica.

The police announced that they also pursued the suspicious vehicle with units from South Mitrovica.

While fleeing, the driver of the vehicle constantly endangered other traffic participants, according to the Police announcement.

The announcement states that in Mitrovica alone, this vehicle hit the police vehicle it was following three times.

The vehicle was only able to stop in the village of Zupç, on the Mitrovica-Zubin Potok road. The driver and three passengers were arrested there.

"Thanks to the skill and professionalism of the police officers, who acted calmly, with restraint and prudence, using a suitable location without endangering other traffic participants, on the national road Mitrovica - Zubin Potok, respectively on the road segment in the village of Zupç, they managed to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver and three passengers," the announcement states.

According to the announcement, the driver was placed under police detention and is being investigated for "assault on an official in the performance of official duty."
