The mother and minor daughter who were stabbed in Prizren are in serious condition and are receiving treatment in the Central Intensive Care Unit at the Prizren General Hospital.
The Chief of Emergency at this hospital, Hekuran Veçgishti, indicated that the two victims had wounds on different parts of their bodies.
"Last night at around 00:45, two injured people were admitted to the Emergency Department of the Prizren General Hospital as a result of stabbing. The necessary examinations and radiological examinations were carried out. The injured had wounds in different parts of the body. After consultation with the attending surgeon, the two injured were hospitalized for surgical intervention. At the moment, the patients are being treated in the Central Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital," said Veçgishti.
Last evening, Kosovo Police received information about a case of domestic violence and upon arriving at the scene, Kosovo Police encountered a woman (the defendant's wife) lying in the street with bodily injuries and bleeding caused by a knife.
The victim was provided first aid by police officers until the arrival of the emergency medical team.
Meanwhile, the second victim, a minor girl, was found on the top floor of the building. She also had bodily injuries and bleeding. The minor victim was provided with first aid and then, together with her mother, was sent for treatment to the Prizren Regional Hospital.
According to the Basic Prosecution Office of Prizren, during the intervention of the Kosovo Police at the entrance to the apartment where the incident occurred, the defendant was identified and arrested, who was escorted to the police station for further procedures.
Subsequently, the prosecutor in charge issued a ruling to detain the defendant for 48 hours, due to the well-founded suspicion that he had committed the criminal offenses of "Attempted Aggravated Murder" and "Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons." /KosovaPress/
