Ermal Hoxha, grandson of Enver Hoxha, is released from prison

Ermal Hoxha was released on bail from prison, leaving 1 year and 6 months in prison without serving.

The grandson of the former dictator was convicted of drug trafficking after the discovery of the cocaine laboratory in Xibraka. Hoxha has completed his sentence, which was given by the Court of Serious Crimes in July 2017 with 10 years of imprisonment with a shortened trial, together with other members of the "Xibraka" group.

But, from the shortened trial for Ermal Hoxha, the sentence was reduced to 6 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

Operation "Xibraka" took place four years ago in Elbasan, where on January 14, 2015, 11 people were arrested, including 2 Colombians who, according to the investigation, were involved in the processing of cocaine and why they had arrived in Albania with a work permit and as footballers.

The following ended up in handcuffs: Saimir Batku, 43 years old from Tirana, Fatmir Hoxha, 48 years old, Kastriot Imeri, 47 years old from Tirana, Gentjan Gjonaj, 43 years old from Vlora, Arjan Dalipi, 50 years old from Elbasan, Kelment Dalipi, 45 years old from Elbasan, Ilir Hyseni, 47 years old from Tirana, Ermal Hoxha, 40 years old (grandson of Enver Hoxha) from Tirana, Egest Dankesi, 27 years old from Elbasan.
