The Basic Court in Prizren has ordered a one-month detention for the suspect in the murder of his mother in Dragash.
When ordering detention, the Court took into account the gravity of the criminal offense, taking into account the manner and circumstances in which the offense is suspected to have been committed.

Also, the pre-trial judge on January 22 issued an order for the UCCK, the Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, to conduct a psychiatric examination as soon as possible, but no longer than two weeks from the date of issuance of the order.
Detention requested for suspect in mother's murder in Dragash
The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren has requested from the Basic Court in Prizren to impose a 30-day detention order on FB, suspected of murdering his mother in Dragash.
He is in custody for 48 hours and is suspected of the criminal offense of "Aggravated Murder".
"According to the prosecution's request, the suspect FB, on 20.01.2026, in the village of Restelicë - Municipality of Dragash, in his family home where he lived with the victim, intentionally deprived his mother, the victim TB, of life, by initially punching her in different parts of the body and then squeezing her by the throat with his hands, in which case the victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained. With these actions, the same is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of "Aggravated Murder" according to the Criminal Code of Kosovo," the announcement states.
On Wednesday, the director of the Prizren Regional Police, Faton Alija, said that no sharp objects or weapons were found in the house where the incident occurred, but the victim did suffer bodily injuries.
"The suspicions are that a confrontation with dry hands led to injuries with consequences - death. It is worth noting that the family has four members, but at the critical moment when the event or incident occurred in the family, only the victim or mother and son were present," Alija stated.
The Basic Court in Prizren has announced that the suspect has been sentenced to probation three times. In two cases for the criminal offense of minor bodily harm and in one case for domestic violence.
