The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren has requested from the Basic Court to impose a 30-day detention measure on suspect AB, who is currently in 48-hour detention for the criminal offense of usury.
According to the prosecution, AB is suspected of having exerted pressure on the victim BL from 2019 until August 6, 2025, benefiting over 12 thousand euros, after initially granting a debt of only 100 euros.
Investigations show that the suspect exerted psychological pressure and continuous threats on the victim, demanding large sums of money in exchange for the initial debt. Through phone calls, physical meetings and pressure on the victim's family, AB managed to illegally profit thousands of euros.
On August 6, AB was arrested in flagrante delicto by Kosovo Police, after accepting another 5,000 euros in interest, as part of an operation with special investigative measures.
The prosecution announces that the suspect has caused considerable material damage to the victim and requests that he be remanded in custody to prevent influence on witnesses or repetition of the criminal offense.
