A person was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly threatening and blackmailing a woman from June 2025 to August 13, 2026, in Prizren and through communications on social networks, with the aim of illegally obtaining financial gain.
The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren announced that together with the Police, with special investigative measures, they arrested the suspect SQ in flagrante delicto. He had benefited from the victim of around 50 thousand euros by blackmailing him.
The Prosecution's announcement explains that the suspect, through messages on the WhatsApp application, exerted pressure on the injured party, threatening to publish and send to her family members materials that, according to his claims, would violate her honor and authority.
"In this way, the same person has requested and managed to secure financial means, in the amount of up to 50 thousand euros, which the injured party is suspected of having secured, among other things, through the sale of gold taken from her mother and family members, in order to fulfill the suspect's demands," the announcement states.
The defendant is also suspected of continuing unwanted and threatening communications towards the injured party, causing her great fear and emotional distress, both for herself and for her family members.
