Gesti is banned for 48 hours, suspected of three criminal offenses

The Pristina Prosecution Office announced in a statement that singer Besart Kelmendi - Gjesti has been detained for 48 hours, on suspicion of three criminal offenses. 

According to the Prosecution, Gjesti is suspected of the criminal offenses of "unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons", "threats" and "destruction or damage to property". 

"The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, General Department, informs the public that by order of the Custodian Prosecutor, one (1) person has been detained for 48 hours, due to the well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offenses: ''Unauthorized possession, control or possession of weapons'' under Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, for the criminal offense ''Threat'' under Article 181 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the criminal offense ''Destruction or damage to property'' under Article 321 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. The detained person is known to the public as the singer Gjesti. The State Prosecutor, in coordination and cooperation with the Kosovo Police, is undertaking all necessary investigative and procedural actions in relation to this case. Due to the early stage of the investigative procedure and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigations, additional details regarding the case cannot be provided at this stage," the Prosecution said. 

The prosecution has said that it will take the necessary procedural actions within the legal deadlines.
