A 38-year-old man was found unaccounted for in his apartment in Gjilan on Thursday evening. The spokesperson for the Gjilan region Police, Valon Osmani, has informed KOHA that, based on the investigations so far, there are no suspicions of elements of murder.
The dead body was sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
"On 23.07.2026 at around 18:26, we received information that a male person, a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo born in 1988, was found without signs of life in his apartment in the city of Gjilan. The relevant police units, together with the State Prosecutor and the emergency team, went to the scene of the incident, where the attending physician determined that the person was without signs of life. Based on the investigations so far, there are no suspicions of elements of the criminal offense of murder. By order of the State Prosecutor, the dead body will be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina for an autopsy. Investigations are continuing to shed light and clarify the circumstances of the case by police investigators of the Regional Investigation Unit in Gjilan in cooperation with the State Prosecutor's Office", Osmani announced.
