The woman who was reported missing two days ago in Deçan has been found dead in the Lumbardh River.
Police announced that the victim was found around 14:00 PM in the watercourse in the village of Broliq, Deçan.
Her death was confirmed by the medical team at the scene.
"Today, on 14.05.2026, at around 14:00, after the search, a female person was found in the water in the village of Broliq-Deçan. At the scene, the medical team confirmed the victim's death, while her family members identified her, who had been declared a missing person on 12.05.2026. By order of the State Prosecutor, the victim's body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina for an autopsy," Police spokesman Driton Rugova told KOHĖN.
The victim was found by the Kosovo Security Force, which was engaged at the request of the Situation Center.
"The KSF finds the body in the Lumbardh River. At the request of the Situation Center of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, and by order of the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, the KSF has taken all measures, engaging the National Guard's water search and rescue teams, which have acted in cooperation and coordination with the local authorities of the Municipality of Deçan and the Kosovo Police. After intensive searches, the KSF water search and rescue teams have managed to find the body with the initials SH.P.", the KSF statement reads.
