The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prizren has announced that, in cooperation with the Police, two people have been detained under the suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of "usury", "coercion", "destruction or damage to property".
The action took place in three different locations, where the defendants were arrested red-handed.
"The same ones are suspected of having acted intentionally and with the aim of illegally benefiting wealth for themselves by contracting clearly disproportionate amounts of wealth in exchange for the service (granting debt), the victim of usury from which they take advantage of the extremely difficult situation financial, his inexperience and the same offer him a sum of money in the form of debt which they then charge with high and unaffordable interest. One of the defendants also uses force and serious threats permanently against the injured party, to force the latter to perform actions to the detriment of his property and by physically attacking and threatening him with the purpose of realizing the benefit from contracting a clearly disproportionate amount, in such a way that he goes to the victim's house, starts shouting and swearing at the victim, then knocks his phone to the ground and punches him in the right frontal part and also with a hard tool hits him on the head, causing bodily injuries", the announcement of the Prosecutor's Office states. "By the decision of the prosecutor, the defendants have been detained for 48 hours and within the legal term a request will be submitted for the determination of the detention measure against the same".
