A Serbian minor was arrested in the village of Seqishte, Hani i Elezit, on Tuesday for unauthorized border crossing.  and migrant smuggling.

It is reported from the 24-hour police report that he was detained while escorting five Chinese citizens towards North Macedonia, who were suspected of having illegally crossed the border.  from Serbia to the territory of Kosovo.

"By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect, after being interviewed, was taken into custody for 24 hours, while the 5 Chinese citizens were returned to Serbia," the announcement states.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj has requested the imposition of a detention measure against a Serbian minor suspected of smuggling migrants. 

He is suspected of having taken five Chinese citizens from Serbia and attempted to smuggle them into North Macedonia. 

"According to the request submitted by the Prosecution, there is a well-founded suspicion that on 21.10.2025 at around 20:20, in the village of Secishte, Hani i Elezit municipality, precisely at the place called the "Bllaca 99" Memorial Park, the minor, with the aim of smuggling migrants, organized-smuggled the illegal crossing of migrants, precisely five (5) people with Chinese citizenship, crossing the Kosovo-North Macedonia border line, in such a way that the minor had initially met and communicated with the persons in question in the state of the Republic of Serbia. They had made an agreement that for each person he would receive a payment in the amount of 20,00 Euros, and then he would take the persons in question from the state of Serbia into the state of Kosovo, where the minor would provide a vehicle, driven by a person unknown so far, and put them all in the vehicle, and then he would send them towards the state of the Republic of "North Macedonia, precisely at the Kosovo-North Macedonia border line, where the border patrol unit noticed and managed to stop them all," the Prosecutor's Office said. 

The minor was given a 24-hour detention order.
