The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova has announced that it has filed a request for 30 days' detention against the person arrested in Rahovec for usury.
According to the detention request, he is suspected of having exploited the difficult financial situation of the injured party HF, who had taken 7 thousand euros from him for treatment, in June 2024 and continuously, for the purpose of illegally obtaining property for himself.
Victim HF has paid usurious interest in the amount of 14 thousand euros.
"Until the date of initiation of the investigation, he has paid interest with usury in the amount of €14.000 (fourteen thousand euros), in which case on the critical day on 21.02.2026, he was arrested by the police during the implementation of special investigative measures, accepting money in the amount of 700 euros from the injured party. With these actions, he committed the criminal offense of "Usurpation" under Article 331, paragraph 2, in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code", states, among other things, in the announcement of the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova.
The defendant has been under a 48-hour detention order since February 21, 2026, by decision of the State Prosecutor.
