Albanian police have announced that they have arrested a 43-year-old man from Kosovo, who was wanted by Spain, at Rinas Airport.
BB, born in Gjakova and residing in Amsterdam, was sentenced in July to imprisonment for "drug trafficking" and "participation in a criminal organization."
"In Rinas, as a result of the coordination of actions between the Border Police and Interpol Tirana, the provisional arrest, for the purpose of extradition, of citizen BB, 43 years old, born in Gjakova, Kosovo and resident in Amsterdam, Netherlands, was made. The Central Court of Instruction (Investigation) No. 1, at the National Audience of Madrid/Spain, in July 2026, imposed on this citizen the security measure "Arrest with imprisonment", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Participation in a criminal organization", for the purpose of trafficking in narcotics, provided for by the Spanish Criminal Code. The investigations conducted by the Spanish Judicial Police have made it possible to identify a stable criminal organization, which is suspected of dealing in cocaine trafficking, located mainly in the Costa del Sol and with activity in various areas of the national territory. Citizen BB is suspected of being implicated in the transport of narcotics", the State Police announced.
