The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren has announced that a person with the initials ZV has been arrested in flagrante delicto, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of "usury" and "coercion".
According to the Prosecution's announcement, the suspect, from 01.03.2025 to 19.03.2025 continuously, with the aim of illegally obtaining property for himself, contracts a clearly disproportionate amount of property in exchange for a service (debt payment), as it is said, taking advantage of the difficult financial situation of the injured party EH.
According to the notification, the injured party, on 01.03.2025, had borrowed a certain amount of money from the defendant, with a repayment period of three to four days.
"The injured party, being in a difficult financial situation, had not managed to return the amount of money, requesting from the defendant two additional days to repay the debt, where the injured party returned the money after a week by giving the injured party the specified amount in the name of interest. Then, the defendant after a week, continuously through social networks, put continuous pressure on the injured party, threatening him with the aim of forcing the injured party to act to the detriment of his property, requesting other amounts of money in the name of interest. The defendant on 20.03.2025 meets with the injured party from whom he accepts the specified amount in the name of interest, and is arrested in flagrante delicto by the police," the Prosecution's announcement states.
For the arrested defendant, the prosecution has filed a request for pre-trial detention.
