Suspect arrested for murder of two brothers in Malisheva

The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova has announced that the suspect in the murder of two brothers that occurred on Thursday in the village of Golluboc, Malisheva, has been arrested. 

Regarding the case, the Kosovo Police, in full coordination with the State Prosecutor, is taking all necessary actions.

"Within the legally prescribed deadline, a request for the imposition of pre-trial detention against the suspect AI will be submitted to the competent court," the announcement states.

The Kosovo Police has also provided details about his arrest. 

The Police statement states that the suspect was arrested in the village of Pllaqicë and had wounds that are suspected to have been caused by a firearm.

"Today, on 07.11.2025, at around 06:25, in the village of Pllaqicë, the suspect AI (1983), a Kosovar male, was arrested. After the arrest, the suspect was offered medical treatment, as he had wounds that were suspected to have been caused by a firearm. He was sent for continued medical treatment," the Police statement said. 

The Director of Police in Gjakova, Lumni Graishta, said that it is suspected that the arrested person was injured during the fight with the victims. 

"It is suspected that he was injured during the fight with the victims. Both parties used weapons, it is suspected that he was injured by one of the victims," ​​Graishta said.

The suspect was sent for treatment to the Emergency Clinic at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCC). 

The Director of the Emergency Clinic, Naser Syla, stated that he was wounded by a gunshot and his condition is stable.

He stated that the suspects are undergoing examinations and will then continue their medical treatment at the Abdominal Clinic.

"The condition is stable, he was wounded by a gunshot, post-treatment examinations are still being performed, and treatment continues in Abdominal Surgery," Syla emphasized.

The arrested man suspected of killing the two brothers, one 32 and the other 45 years old, is their son-in-law.

Relatives of the victims said that the suspect came to pick up his wife, the sister of the two victims, who was staying with the family after her father died a few days ago.

There is an active indictment against the doras for domestic violence, committed in March.
