Three people have been arrested as suspects of usury from a months-long investigation by the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prizren in cooperation with the Regional Police Unit in Prizren, the Directorate for Organized Crime and the NJSO Unit.
Three locations in the Prizren region were checked.
Suspects A.Th., I.Th., and J.Th., are suspected of taking advantage of the victim's dire financial situation to get money with interest.
"The arrested defendants, allegedly taking advantage of the victim's difficult financial situation, gave him money with a monthly interest rate of 25%. The victim has paid interest several times, and when he failed to pay the monthly interest, the defendants charged him weekly interest, in which case, as a result of the high interest, they reached unaffordable values for the victim ", it is stated in the notification of the Prosecutor's Office.
During this action, the State Prosecutor seized two vehicles, cash and other material evidence.
