The Kosovo Police announced on Monday that in the last 24 hours five cases of domestic violence were reported in different settlements.
According to the announcement, it is about cases of psychological and physical violence against women.
The cases were recorded in Pristina, Çagllavica, Pejë, Gjakovë and South Mitrovica.
"The Kosovar female complainant has reported a dispute with the Kosovar male suspect who had caused her psychological violence. The parties have been interviewed and with the prosecutor's decision, the case is initiated as above and the suspect has been released in a regular procedure", says the announcement for the Prishtina region.
In Çagllavica, a woman reported that she was mentally and physically attacked by a man, whose relationship is not given details.
"The Kosovar female complainant has reported that the Kosovar male suspect had attacked her mentally and physically and he had threatened her with different words. The suspect was arrested and after the interview by the decision of the prosecutor, he was taken into custody", the police report states.
Even in Peja, it was reported about psychological violence against a woman, by a man.
"It is reported that a Kosovar male suspect has been arrested because he is suspected of causing psychological violence to the Kosovar female victim. With a verbal order from the preliminary procedure judge, two houses connected to the case were searched, but nothing suspicious was found. With the decision of the prosecutor, the case is initiated as above and the suspect was released in a regular procedure", the police announced.
Two women in Gjakovë have reported to the police that they were physically attacked by a man after a dispute.
"After a dispute, the Kosovar male suspect had physically attacked the two Kosovar female victims, who received medical treatment, while the suspect left in an unknown direction. The case is under investigation," says the 24-hour police report.
Meanwhile, the other case is in South Mitrovica.
"The female Kosovar complainant reported that after a dispute was physically attacked by the male Kosovar suspect. "Regarding the case, the suspect was arrested and after being interviewed by the decision of the prosecutor, he was released in a regular procedure," the police announced.
