The Basic Court in Prizren has assigned 30 days of detention to the suspects SM, AB, VF, and FF. They are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of migrant trafficking.
According to the court, the defendants SM, AB, VF, and FF, in co-perpetration, deal with smuggling of migrants for the purpose of direct or indirect financial benefit on July 16 outside the official state border crossing Albania-Kosovo, in the vicinity of in the village of Vërmicë, they brought 11 (eleven) Syrian citizens into the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, who, with a vehicle driven by the defendant SM, brought them to the house of the defendant AB, in Suharekë, so that later with financial compensation to transport them to Mitrovica near the border, in order to illegally cross them into the territory of the Republic of Serbia".
