In today's meeting of the Municipal Assembly of Obiliq, which was called since. among others. to elect the mandatory committees, which according to the law must represent all parliamentary groups, began with the discrimination and bypassing of Vetëvendosje, emphasizes this Movement from this municipality.
While in the Committee for Politics and Finance the representation of all political parties was achieved, the representation of Vetëvendosje was categorically rejected, the reaction of VV. Also, in the Committee for Communities, all political parties were represented with their members, but the member of V. was rejected.
The chairman of the Vetëvendosje Movement councilors' group in Obiliq, Aziz Bici, tried several times to justify the need for representation and the legal violations that the chairman of the Municipal Assembly was committing, but he was constantly ignored. Bici also asked for a discussion about the item on the agenda, where the Mayor of the Municipality would appoint the vice-mayor for communities from the ranks of the Serbian minority. When Bici asked for an explanation for this, since according to the Statute of the Municipality, the vice president for communities is elected only when the number of minorities reaches more than 10% of the total number of inhabitants, the request was not discussed at all. According to statistics, in the municipality of Obiliq there are less than 9% non-majority population.
