The vote count for the June 7 elections is nearing completion. So far, 96.60 percent of the votes, or 2760 out of 2857 ballot boxes in total, have been counted.
Now that the diaspora votes are being counted, the Vetëvendosje Movement has gained a total of five mandates, securing 53 seats in the Assembly. At this stage of the counting, the party has won over 47.08 percent of the votes processed. On Tuesday, VV won its fifth seat thanks to votes from the diaspora. Initially, from the votes counted within Kosovo, the party had secured 48 parliamentary mandates.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has 22 seats and ranks second with 19.49 percent of the vote, the Democratic League of Kosovo has 18 seats and ranks third. third with 16.74 percent and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo ranks fourth with seven seats in the Assembly and 6.73 percent of the vote.
The Central Election Commission has received around 85 envelopes with votes from the diaspora. So far, data from approximately 11 votes has been processed.
At least 61 votes in the Assembly are needed to form a Government and elect the Speaker of the Assembly. In the previous mandate, Vetëvendosje managed to form a government with the support of MPs from non-majority communities.

Meanwhile, the election of the president requires the participation of at least 80 MPs in the voting process, an issue that was one of the main reasons that led the country to the June 7 elections.
In the last elections, around 725 thousand citizens within Kosovo voted, while over 100 thousand citizens living abroad exercised their right to vote through diplomatic missions or by mail.

The Central Election Commission is expected to conclude the counting of all ballots for the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo today, Wednesday.
During today, the remaining eight boxes are expected to be counted, in which ballots from postal voting outside Kosovo and ballots from conditional voting and from persons with special needs have been arranged.
The news was announced by CEC Spokesperson, Valmir Elezi.
"Today, more specifically on the 10th day after election day, the CEC will conclude the post-election activities, which the CEC conducts to arrive at the final election results. The remaining ballots from voting outside Kosovo and ballots from conditional voting and from persons with special needs will be counted at the Counting and Results Center," he said.
Meanwhile, the CEC on Wednesday morning updated the data from the counting process at the CNR. According to this data, out of 223 ballot boxes in which ballots from the postal vote were placed, 215 have been counted and 8 more will be counted during the day.
At the same time, the CEC has begun counting ballots from conditional voting, which was enabled in 52 conditional polling stations, where 8,751 voters were registered. The counting of ballots from voting by persons with special needs, carried out outside polling stations, has also begun, where 3,144 voters were registered for this type of voting./ksp
