The Washington Court of Appeals has suspended the first-instance decision in the case of journalists from the broadcaster "Voice of America", blocking the order that allowed them to return to work.
Earlier in the day, the US Department of Justice announced that Voice of America staff could resume broadcasting programs starting next week, after the medium was shut down in March by the administration of President Donald Trump.
Voice of America was shut down by Trump's executive order to the US Agency for Global Media, to reduce the broadcaster's operations to the minimum required by law.
On March 21, Voice of America filed a lawsuit against the US president's administration, arguing that the decision to shut down the broadcaster is outside the legal framework.
