The Supreme Court has banned the detention of nine defendants for falsifying voting results.

The decision came after reviewing the requests filed against the ruling of the Basic Court in Prizren and that of the Court of Appeals of Kosovo, which had determined and confirmed the measure of detention against them.

"The Supreme Court, with judgment Pml.nr.105/2026, has approved the requests for protection of legality submitted by the defense lawyers of the defendants in the criminal case against BB, AH, AK, Gj.Sh., LK, B.Xh., EG, and IP, changing the decisions of the lower courts and terminating the detention measure for all defendants. The same were immediately released to defend themselves in freedom," the Supreme Court's announcement states.

The Supreme Court also approved the request for protection of legality, submitted by the defense counsel of the defendant HP, terminating his detention for the criminal offense of falsifying the voting results, and releasing him to defend himself at liberty.

KOHA has learned that among those released are two family members of PDK candidate for MP Fetah Paçarizi and a family member of this party's candidate for MP Nait Hasani.

The Supreme Court assessed that the legal conditions for terminating the detention measure have been met.
