It's official now.
The match between Serbia and Albania will not take place at the "Rajko Mitic" stadium in Belgrade.
UEFA has accepted the request of the Serbian federation for the match to be played at the “Duboçica” stadium in Leskovac. The match will take place on October 11 and is part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
UEFA has changed the venue of the match on its official website. Until Monday evening, it stated that the match would take place at the "Rajko Mitic" stadium in Belgrade, while now it says "Dubočica" in Leskovac.
The Serbian Football Federation had decided to host the match at the Red Star Belgrade stadium, the same as the one against England that took place a week earlier. After the problems that arose in the match against England, which the Serbs lost 5:0, it was decided to play the match against Albania in Leskovac. This required the consent of the AHF and the decision of UEFA.

During the match with England, there were insults towards Serbia's coach, Dragan Stojkovic, whistles towards players, and also insults towards the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. During the match, while the fans were insulting the government in Serbia, hooligans close to Vucic attacked them.
There have also been anti-Kosovo calls and the unfurling of the Serbian flag over the map of Kosovo.
It is likely that the Serbian federation will be punished for all these violations. One of the possible punishments is that the match with Albania will be played without spectators.
The stadium in Leskovac has a capacity of only 8000 seats and it was Vučić's request that the match with the Rossoneri be played in this city. This was reportedly done to avoid insults to the Serbian president and his government. In Belgrade against England there were 40 spectators and controlling all this mass was impossible. Meanwhile, controlling 8000 people is more possible, among other things by controlling the ticket sales process.
The match on October 11 is decisive for second place in Group K of the World Cup qualifiers. First place is expected to go to England.
