Fire near Etihad Stadium ahead of Champions League match

Fire near Etihad Stadium ahead of Champions League match

An area near the Etihad Stadium, where fans had gathered two hours before the Manchester City - Club Brugge match in the final round of the Champions League, has been engulfed in fire.

The fire had started in a kiosk near the stadium's main entrance shortly before 18:00 p.m.

Fans had gathered to take a closer look at the January transfers.

But this event was cut short after the crowd was evacuated by security staff.

Meanwhile, firefighters have also arrived to help.

But this will not affect the start of the match as planned.

City has posted on the "X" platform that the match will kick off at 21:00 PM and that all entrances to the stadium for fans are open as usual.
